Safety for both horse and rider is a top priority.
Learn skills to develop a secure seat while riding.
Learning from the ground up to improve confidence.
Do you dream of riding a horse for the first time or riding in union with your own or other horses? Look no more! Our riding lessons conducted by certified equine specialist Bonny Barry are sure to meet your training needs.
Riding lessons with Bonny build on the foundation of the Horsemanship Empowerment Program by first mastering groundwork with the horse. The horse and rider are then established as a team and communicate easily. Moving to “in the saddle” work is a natural progression for both the rider and the horse.
Riding lessons are offered for beginners all the way to the advanced equestrian. Riders from age 7 through adulthood are welcome.
Instruction is individualized, though group instruction is also available. Group instruction must be approved in advance in consideration of riding level and the number of participants (2-4) for safety and learning purposes. On-site sessions are offered with Equine Reflections' horses and tack. Off-site sessions are also offered with the participant’s horse. Please refer to the off-site requirements in the Horsemanship Empowerment Program.
Riding lessons feature an array of mounted-rider skills development. Instruction includes emergency dismount, secure seat exercises, balance at the halt, walk, trot and canter, patterned drills, and trail rides.
Learning secure seat exercises is the key to riding safety.
Does your child need to learn about patience? Well, horses are the best teachers!
